FIREGROUND Leadership & Training is a NSW, Coffs Coast based company specialising in a range of areas for small to large businesses and Government agencies. We are a Registered Training Organisation (41245) that has embraced a group of specialist people with an extensive diversity of knowledge, expertise and credibility in Fire Training, Planning, Operations and Incident Management. With our excellence and expertise we will value add to the clients existing resources and capabilities. We will work with the clients resources to enhance the existing abilities and hone their skills to cope with the future and its changes, safely and effectively. With Excellence, Expertise & Knowledge FIREGROUND will value add to the efficiency and effectiveness of fire planning, training and incident management within Australasia and the Pacific Rim Countries. Dave Hitchcock

Dave Hitchcock

Director

Dave’s passion for training led him to establish Fireground. He observed an opportunity to make a real change in the quality of delivery of fire training and development of training materials. This led him to develop a company with both consultancy and RTO capabilities. As well as his personal expertise, Dave has called on the knowledge of the many networks he has established throughout his years of experience working for Government Land Management Agencies. Dave is a Certificate IV Trainer Assessor and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science. Dave has held multi-disciplinary roles within fire agencies, including; plant operator, CM, CL, DC, Air Obs, Ops, Logs, PO, IC, Interstate Liaison Officer and is a Retained Structural Firefighter with FRNSW.

Richard Shadforth

Trainer

Richard is passionate about learning and development, both personally and organisationally. He brings a wealth of leadership and management experience to his training role. He has travelled widely and his military experience as a commander has been augmented with formal qualifications in Asian Studies and extensive experience in business management. Richard has a passion for transformative training designed to maximise the potential of learners. He combines a collaborative and personal training approach with a focus on leadership, communication and teamwork to deliver tangible results. His engaging personality provokes learner thinking to bring about improved and measurable performance in the workplace.

    Peter Brookhouse

    Trainer

    Peter's career spans 35 years in natural area management and fire management, predominately with the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service. He has held positions including Ranger and Fire Management Officer. Peter has significantly contributed to NPWS fire management policy and procedures. He compiled the agency's first fire management policies and procedures manual. He used this manual to introduce AIIMS Incident Control System into that agency. Peter exercised innovation into fire management. NPWS adopted his format for map-based fire management planning. This format is gaining international interest. His prescriptions and approaches to prescribed burns has influenced training and best practice in the agency.

      Andrea is is a qualified Trainer and Assessor with many years of experience in the delivery and management of Vocational Education. Andrea manages the RTO's compliance and deals with our clients as well as Financial/ Office Management roles within the Company.

        Douglas Bell

        Douglas Bell

        First Aid Trainer

        Doug Is a qualified trainer/assessor and Paramedic with many years experience in emergency care including Remote First Aid. He has experience in risk and compliance relating to the WHS act. Doug is an asset to our first aid training delivery and has a wealth of knowledge and experience in training.
